Where is the Dawn Fox in Infinity Nikki? Full Location & Unlock Guide

If you’ve spent any time exploring the open world zones of Infinity Nikki lately, you’ve almost certainly seen other players posting screenshots of the fluffy, orange-tailed Dawn Fox, or showing off the rare hair clip and companion pet you get from befriending it. If you’re one of the many players asking where is the Dawn Fox in Infinity Nikki, you’re not alone – I spent three days hunting for it last week after missing its first spawn window, and I made every possible mistake along the way so you don’t have to. This guide covers everything from exact spawn spots to unlock requirements, so you can track down this elusive creature and grab all its exclusive rewards in less than 20 minutes.

Where is the Dawn Fox in Infinity Nikki: Exact Spawn Locations

The Dawn Fox only spawns in a single small sub-area of the game’s map, and only during very specific in-game time windows, so it’s easy to miss if you don’t know what you’re looking for. It never shows up outside of the Sunny Glade sub-area of the Golden Prairie map, so you don’t need to waste time checking other zones no matter what random forum tips you see. It only spawns during in-game dawn hours, which run from 5am to 7am on the in-game clock you’ll see in the top right corner of your screen. If you show up outside of those hours, you won’t find it, no matter how long you wait.

Within Sunny Glade, the Dawn Fox only spawns in three fixed spots, so you can cycle between them quickly to find it:

  • Next to the giant sunflower patch at the northern edge of Sunny Glade, right beside the weathered wooden picnic table
  • Under the gnarled old oak tree by the small stream that cuts through the center of the sub-area
  • At the top of the small grassy hill on the southern end of Sunny Glade, right beside the cluster of glowing dawn lilies

If you get to Sunny Glade during dawn hours and don’t see the fox in any of these spots, try switching game channels. Most players report it spawns most often on channels 3 and 7 during peak play times, but it’s worth checking channels 1 through 10 if you don’t find it right away. You won’t have to wait long if you switch channels, since the respawn timer between spawns is only 10 in-game minutes.

Prerequisites to Unlock Dawn Fox Spawns

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I first started hunting for the Dawn Fox was showing up before I completed all the required prerequisites. I stood around for two full in-game dawn cycles waiting for it to spawn, and it never did, because I missed a key side quest. First, you need to complete the main story quest "Dawn's First Light", which unlocks automatically when you reach player level 18. This quest introduces you to the Golden Prairie’s wildlife system, and it’s required for all rare creature spawns in the zone.

Second, you need to get and equip the Nature Whisperer tool in your quick access belt. You get this tool from the Prairie Keeper NPC in Prairie Town after you complete three of her side quests about feeding and caring for local small wildlife. If you don’t have this tool equipped, the fox will never appear on your screen, even if it’s spawned right in front of you for other players.

Last, make sure you’re wearing a soft, approachable outfit when you go hunting. The Dawn Fox is extremely skittish, and it will run away immediately if you’re wearing any armor, dark gothic styling, or loud, spiky accessories. I recommend wearing a casual pastel outfit with flower accessories to keep it calm, it makes the interaction way easier later on too.

How to Interact With the Dawn Fox Once You Find It

Finding the fox is only half the battle – you also need to know how to approach it without scaring it off, and what items you need to befriend it. First, don’t run directly at it, even if you’re excited you found it. Walk slowly towards it, and don’t use any loud emotes like cheering or dancing while you’re approaching, that will make it bolt immediately.

You also need to have at least 3 Sunberry treats in your inventory before you go hunting. You can pick Sunberries all around Sunny Glade during daytime hours, or buy them for 10 coins each from the general store in Prairie Town. When you get within 10 feet of the fox, a small interaction prompt will pop up asking if you want to offer it a Sunberry. Do this three times, waiting a few seconds between each offer, and don’t move around while you’re feeding it.

After you feed it the third Sunberry, the fox will walk up to you and let you pet it, which triggers your reward. If you do scare it off by accident, don’t panic – it will respawn in one of the other two spawn spots after 10 in-game minutes, so you can just cycle between the spots to find it again without waiting for the next dawn window.

Exclusive Rewards You Earn From the Dawn Fox

All the effort of tracking down the Dawn Fox is worth it for the exclusive, limited-time rewards you can only get from it. The first time you successfully befriend it, you’ll automatically get the Dawn Fox Hair Clip, a tiny, fluffy hair accessory that has a mini version of the fox sitting on it. It works with almost every cute styling look, and it’s one of the most popular limited accessories in the game right now.

If you come back and befriend the Dawn Fox three days in a row, you’ll unlock the Dawn Fox companion pet, which follows you around all open world zones. It does little tricks like chasing butterflies when you use happy emotes, and it will even bring you small random gifts like flowers or crafting materials from time to time as you explore.

There’s also a 30% chance every time you interact with the fox to get Dawn Silk, a rare crafting material you need to make the legendary Dawn Goddess outfit set. This set has one of the highest styling scores in the game for cute and elegant themes, and you can’t get Dawn Silk anywhere else right now. All rewards are account-bound, so you can’t trade or buy them from other players, which makes them even more special.

If you’ve been putting off tracking down this fluffy little creature, now you have all the info you need to answer where is the Dawn Fox in Infinity Nikki, and how to get all the exclusive rewards it offers. I recommend going hunting early in the week when fewer players are online, so you don’t have to switch channels a dozen times to find an empty spawn spot. If you run into any snags during your hunt, double check that you’ve completed all the prerequisites and have the Nature Whisperer tool equipped – that’s the issue 90% of the time when players can’t find the fox. The rewards are more than worth the 15 minutes it takes to track it down, and the little companion pet is still one of my favorite things to show off when I’m running around the map with friends.
